Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from Austin, TX. Originally from El Paso, the band's sound has evolved into a unique blend of sun-baked surf-psychedelia. Holy Wave creates a brand of psych that brings to mind fellow Texans like The 13th Floor Elevators and modern contemporaries like The Black Angels and Night Beats, dyed in carefully constructed noise with an attention to detail echoing the work of shoegaze influences like My Bloody Valentine and Spectrum.
These Lone Star inhabitants recorded their first full-length album, Knife Hits, at the prestigious Cacophony Recorders recording studio (Black Angels, Explosions in the Sky, Octopus Project, Grupo Fantasma, etc.) Holy Wave puts on a remarkable live set accompanied by psychedelic oil projections provided by Pancho Vision. The band previously released a two-sided cassette single via Fungal Hunger, reveling in the same melodic and hazy psychedelia that earned the band a nod from the Austin Chronicle as one of ten Austin bands to watch in 2011.
